Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 18, 2026

Mike’s Repair Shop (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates mikerepairshop.com and a phone-based AI receptionist that helps customers book home appliance repair appointments in Spokane, Washington and surrounding areas. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly when you contact us, including:

  • Contact details: your name, phone number, service address, and email if provided.
  • Service details: the appliance you need repaired, a description of the issue, and preferred appointment times.
  • Call recordings and transcripts: inbound phone calls to our AI receptionist are recorded and transcribed so we can accurately capture your request and improve our service.
  • Website interactions: if you use a contact form or opt in to SMS through the site, we collect the information you submit and the date/time of submission.

We do not collect payment information through our website or SMS system. Payment is arranged directly with the technician at time of service.

2. SMS Messaging & Consent

We send SMS (text message) appointment reminders to the phone number you provide. When you book an appointment — either by calling us or by submitting your phone number through a form on mikerepairshop.com — you consent to receive the following messages at that number:

  • One reminder approximately 24 hours before your scheduled appointment.
  • One reminder approximately 2 hours before your scheduled appointment.

Message frequency: typically 2 messages per booked appointment. Additional messages may be sent if your appointment is rescheduled.

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.

How to opt out: reply STOP to any reminder text to cancel all future messages. Reply HELP for help. You may also call us to be removed from SMS.

Opt-out confirmation: after replying STOP, you will receive one final confirmation that you have been unsubscribed. No further messages will be sent to that number.

Mobile information sharing: we do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. Your phone number is used only to deliver appointment reminders and operate your service.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel your repair appointments.
  • Send SMS appointment reminders as described above.
  • Contact you about your service, parts, or follow-up questions.
  • Maintain a record of prior service for warranty, follow-up diagnostics, and customer support.
  • Improve our service quality, including reviewing call recordings and transcripts.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:

  • Service providers that help us operate the business — for example, a telephone platform (Vapi/Twilio) that handles inbound calls and SMS delivery, and a database provider (Supabase) that stores appointment records. These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations and process data only on our behalf.
  • Our technicians who need your name, phone, address, and service details to complete the repair.
  • Legal authorities if we are required to disclose information by law, subpoena, or court order.

5. Data Retention

We retain appointment records for as long as you remain an active customer and for up to 3 years after your last service, for warranty and support purposes. Call recordings and transcripts are retained for up to 12 months. You may request earlier deletion at any time (see “Your Rights” below).

6. Your Rights

You may:

  • Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate.
  • Ask us to delete your information, subject to legal or operational retention requirements.
  • Opt out of SMS at any time as described in Section 2.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

7. Security

We use reputable third-party service providers that implement standard industry safeguards, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. No internet system is perfectly secure; please use good judgment when sharing information.

8. Children’s Privacy

Our services are intended for adults booking home repair appointments. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of our services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
